Google / CES 2018

Design exploration for Google’s booth at The International Consumer Electronics Show 2018. We were asked to create a film that would be projected onto the domed ceiling of an auditorium, just like a planetarium. The content explored in these two directions relates to the many ways Google Assistant can help guide you through your day, from breakfast recipes to weather forecasts.

This first direction aims to create a sensory experience through bold color and abstract geometric design. It was important to create as much symmetry as possible, so the experience can be enjoyed from every vantage point.

Our second direction is playful with a greater focus on a linear narrative. The goal was to create a story that could be followed, using artwork that was more representational, while still keeping things as symmetrical as possible.

We also put together some animation tests of rainfall to be displayed on floor-to-ceiling screens positioned along the walls of the staircase leading up to the auditorium.
