In honor of the Coca Cola Company’s 125th anniversary event, I was asked to create a film as part of a massive high-resolution cinematic show projected onto all four sides of the 26 story tall Coca Cola Tower at the company’s headquarters in Atlanta, GA. The brief for this project was pretty open ended, so I had the rare opportunity to come up with something completely original. I knew I wanted to create a narrative piece that took into consideration the building itself. It also had to be something that could be understood regardless of when a person began watching it. I decided we would project the facade of an even larger building - one where we could see inside the windows - and that in each window would be characters engaging in endlessly repeating vignettes. The first step was figuring out what these characters would look like...
After designing the "Bottle Cap Buddies", it was time to figure out which kinds of scenarios they might be engaging in. Obviously there would be soda sommeliers...
